King Iron Works hired A Guy In Films to produce a series of commercials that captured the 35+ years of craftsmanship that goes into each one of their designs. None of the individuals in the commercial were coached. Instead, I wanted to capture what “a regular day” is like at King Iron Works. The commercial’s linear timeline guides the viewer through the entire process, from early concept sketches to a finished and installed product.

Equipment: I decided to shoot the commercials on the Canon 5D Mark ii system using a Carl Zeiss Distagon 35mm T2 lens. I had a Redrock rig with a pull focus ring and an external Marshall monitor. The small camera rig allowed me to squeeze into tight spots and capture some of the close up shots illustrated by the stills.

Music: Music was provided by Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian from Lazy Hooks. They created an organic track that helped narrate the story.
